Knight's Cavern - Rhyl (Wales, UK)
Sarner designed a visitor attraction at the North Wales seaside resort of Rhyl.
The brief called for the design and installation of a high calibre multi-media exhibit in a space with exceptionally limited ceiling height. The contract required creative concept, complete technical design and installation, audio-visual program production, all the 3D tableaux and theatrical settings.
Behind the scenes at the Knights Cavern are hundreds of theatrical lights, 30 separate channels of sound, multi-image systems, motion picture projection, electro-mechanics, smoke, wind and smell machines. There is also a figure whose face transforms using a simplified version of talking-head technology.
Only 23 weeks in total had elapsed between the first discussions and the Good Friday opening. Everyone involved worked extremely hard to achieve the deadline - and the result is an outstanding attraction.
