Monument to the Unknown Artist - London, UK
Sarner was commissioned by Greyworld, a group of artists to realise one of their urban art creation, The 'Monument to the Unknown Artist'. The sculpture looks, on first impressions, to be a typical bronze figure on a granite plinth but, thanks to Sarner's wizardry, this artwork interacts with passers by in a unique way. The figure has been programmed to strike random poses every few minutes but the most appealing element to the sculpture is that it interacts with the public and copies their poses.
The 3m tall bronze figure stands on a 3m high granite plinth and has a permanent position on Bankside's Sumner Street, in the shadows of London's Tate Modern. The latest in animatronics technology has been utilised to create a unique work of art.
