Sarner's Smart Art @ Southbank - Sarner, one of the UK’s leading creative engineering and AV specialists, has made history by creating a piece of art that may seem more at home in Disneyworld than in London’s Southbank.  The artwork, Monument to the Unknown Artist, is a 6ft bronze sculpture that has a permanent position on Bankside’s Sumner Street, in the shadows of London’s Tate Modern.

The sculpture looks, on first impressions, to be a typical bronze figure on a granite plinth but, thanks to Sarner’s wizardry, this artwork interacts with passers by in a unique way.  The figure has been programmed to strike random poses every few minutes but the most appealing element to the sculpture is that it interacts with the public and copies their poses.

Recently formed by the merger of Foreign and Colonial and ISIS, F&C Asset Management PLC became one of the 5 largest investment specialists in the UK.

Combining the two companies necessitated a move of headquarters and with that came the major problem of ensuring continuity of their electronic communications systems.

Some years ago ISIS in particular, were quick to identify the benefits to their business of embracing the most modern and sophisticated meeting room technology and today for example, video conferencing has become an indispensable tool.

Sarner having originally installed the boardroom and 5 meeting rooms were set the challenge of designing the rooms at the new HQ whilst utilising as much of the existing equipment as possible. More importantly Sarner were to manage the transition with minimal disruption to its use.

Sarner achieved this by first installing the system infrastructure and then with close liaison with F&C and their re-location team, scheduling in a phased transition, often working outside of office hours to further minimise the disruption.
